Re: rhythm devils .vs. drums |
As far as the devil thing, I asked Frederic Lieberman (ethnomusicologist co-author with M. Hart) why drums and devils. He didn't want to talk about it and just mentioned that stringed instrument were associated with devils as often.
I was just left then with Bullwinkle the moose with a turban on his head at a table with a crystal ball, who said (staring into the crystal ball) "Eenie-weenie, chili-beanie, the spirits are about to speak."
So Rocky the flying squirrel asked, "Spirits? But Bullwinkle, are they friendly spirits?"
To which Bullwinkle replied, "Friendly? Just listen ..."
Then they cut to a commercial break.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrEkbIHlV1EGotta be careful with the pitchman, he might be covering something up (with that tar).

Re: rhythm devils .vs. drums |
the sky is carolina blue so you don't step in it while devils like myself are blue when unc gets first unanimous preseason #1 ever in men's hoops (which means nothing), so i'm left, as always, urging GO TO HELL, CAROLINA, GO TO HELL.
Shadow of a Man is quite qood - Copeland was sick at 'R00 in '06.
